Terms of Service

We do not publish a physical mailing address on this site.
1. Who we are
“Crucible Hosting,” “we,” and “us” mean the operator of cruciblehosting.com: Crucible Hosting, a sole proprietorship located in Utah, United States.
2. The service
We provide prepaid, metered hosting for Minecraft Java Edition servers on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. New signups are offered 4 GB or 8 GB RAM tiers in US West (Phoenix) on current capacity. Other regions or sizes may exist for legacy accounts; what you can select in the product is what applies to your server.
No uptime SLA. The service is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, specific performance, or recovery times. Service interruptions may be credited at our discretion as described in our Refund policy.
3. Minecraft and Mojang
Crucible Hosting is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft. You must comply with the Minecraft End User License Agreement (EULA) and applicable law.
4. Accounts and eligibility
You sign in with Google OAuth and/or email and password. Keep your credentials secure and your contact information accurate. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service; if you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.
We may limit new account signups from the same IP address per day to reduce abuse.
5. Prepaid wallet billing
- You load a prepaid wallet via Stripe Checkout. Minimum top-up: $5.29. Maximum per checkout: $500.00.
- Velocity limits (per account, per calendar day): up to 5 top-ups and up to $100 in total top-up amount.
- There are no subscriptions and no automatic recurring charges unless you initiate another top-up.
- Stripe Tax may add sales tax on top-ups where applicable.
- While your server is awake, usage draws down your balance for compute (per second, by RAM tier) and for storage above the included allowance.
- When your world is fully hibernated, we do not charge awake-compute rates for that period.
Refunds of unused credit are described in our Refund policy.
6. Idle sleep, low balance, and zero balance
Idle sleep: Our controller monitors player activity. When your server has been idle (no players online) for your configured timeout, we hibernate (“sleep”) the server. The default idle timeout is 30 minutes unless you change it in the dashboard (within the limits shown there).
Low balance: When your wallet drops below roughly one hour of runtime at your current tier, we may show warnings and send email if we have your address.
Zero balance: When your wallet reaches $0.00, metering marks your server as unpaid and we may email you. If no players are online, we stop service for non-payment promptly. If players are online, we allow a short grace period (by default about 15 minutes) before stopping service.
- On smaller / free memory tiers, zero balance typically triggers hibernate (sleep) via the game controller—data remains on storage, but compute stops until you add credit and wake the server.
- On paid memory tiers, zero balance may trigger terminate after we attempt a backup: the compute instance is removed while hibernation bundles and preserved boot volume data remain in Oracle Cloud for recovery workflows.
You are responsible for keeping enough wallet credit for the usage you want.
7. Your content, worlds, plugins, and players
You control the content on your server (worlds, builds, chat, and data you and your players create). You are responsible for that content and for who you invite to play. Plugins, mods, and third-party software you install run at your own risk; we do not vet them and are not liable for their behavior, compatibility, or licensing.
8. Acceptable use (AUP)
You may use the service only for lawful Minecraft hosting. You agree not to:
- Violate the Minecraft EULA, run cheat clients, distribute malware, or operate DDoS/booting tools or similar attacks.
- Run cryptocurrency mining, unrelated bulk compute, or proxy/VPN services unrelated to your game server without our written permission.
- Host illegal content, harass others, or infringe intellectual property.
- Attempt to break out of your server, scan our infrastructure, abuse APIs, or credential-stuff our login.
- Consume excessive CPU or other resources in ways that harm other customers—we monitor CPU abuse and may throttle, sleep, or terminate workloads that endanger platform stability.
Report abuse via Contact or cruciblehosting@gmail.com with enough detail for us to investigate.
We may suspend or terminate service immediately for abuse, fraud, or risk to the platform. For other terminations (not abuse), we will give at least 7 days’ notice and refund any remaining unused wallet balance to the original payment method when Stripe allows.
9. Data, backups, and your responsibility
World and server data live on Oracle Cloud compute and object storage. Operational backups for your Minecraft world include hibernation bundles and preserved boot volumes stored in Oracle Cloud—not a separate third-party backup service. On our edge platform we run Litestream (our deployment of open-source replication software) to replicate only the platform identity database to Oracle object storage for disaster recovery of accounts and billing metadata.
Backups are a convenience, not a guarantee. You should keep copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
10. Account export and deletion
From the Account page (while signed in) you may download a JSON export of your account-related data or start account deletion. Deletion is blocked while a server launch is in progress or while a server must still be stopped.
To confirm deletion you must type a fixed confirmation phrase, verify with a one-time code sent to your email (or your account password if you use email/password sign-in), and—if you have wallet credit—acknowledge that remaining balance is forfeited. You may opt to delete world backups immediately; that queues backup removal, which our background sweeper typically processes within about 10 minutes (not instant). If you do not choose immediate backup deletion, we schedule backup data for removal after 30 days; we delete eligible backup data when due, but timing can vary with operations and errors.
Wallet balance is forfeited on deletion unless you request a refund of unused balance before deleting your account (see Refund policy).
11. Third-party processors
We use Stripe (payments and tax), Resend (transactional email when configured), and Oracle Cloud (hosting and object storage). Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services.
12. Copyright (DMCA)
We respect intellectual property. If you believe content on a customer server or our site infringes your copyright, send a notice to cruciblehosting@gmail.com with: identification of the work, the material and its location, your contact information, a good-faith statement, and your signature (physical or electronic). We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material and terminate repeat infringers when appropriate.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Crucible Hosting and its operator from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, your players, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
14. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
15. Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control (for example natural disasters, war, labor disputes, utility or internet failures, or cloud provider outages).
16. Export and sanctions
You may not use the service if you are barred under U.S. export control or sanctions laws, or if you are located in a country subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions, except as authorized by law. You agree to comply with applicable export and sanctions regulations.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. For material changes, we will notify you by email and a notice on the site at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
18. Termination by you
You may stop using the service at any time. You may delete your account from the Account page subject to the deletion process above. After deletion, portal access ends and server data is handled as described in these terms and our Privacy policy.
19. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Utah; no arbitration clause applies unless we agree otherwise in writing.
20. General
Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Entire agreement: These terms, the Privacy policy, and Refund policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service. No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Assignment: You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization.
21. Legal notices
Send legal notices to cruciblehosting@gmail.com and use Contact for operational messages. We may send notices to the email on your account.
22. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it consistent with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
